Fixin’ things

Well.. we’ve decided to try and sell the house. For lots of reasons…not important right now. There is no urgency, there are no demands being put on us (other than the pressure of getting it ready to list- but we imposed that on ourselves).

We’ve been working on odd jobs. Cleaning up the yard, mulching, scraping peeling paint off the ceiling and repainting…repairing the door jams in the kitchen where we had to remove them to get our new, awesome fridge into the kitchen, and… we took the wallpaper out of the kitchen and painted the walls.

See?

Wish I had done it years ago… I think I love it.

    Wow…it looks great!

Nice job where the fridge used to be! I see those door jams still need a little work. Jake, you so lazy.

In Jake’s defense…I took the pictures a bit early. He wood-puttied them and sanded them and painted them white. Along with nicks and bumps on other door frames in the house. Though there are still a few left to touch-up, he managed to get most of them. The door jams won’t ever be the same until someone puts new wood strips on them. But we’re not going to do that…or we can’t get our fridge out to take it with us. House will list this weekend, more than likely.

but what’s going to happen to the awesome dino bedroom???

I KNOW! I wish we could just take down the sheetrock and move it with us. : (
We’re not going to paint over it just yet. Maybe someone would like a cave room for their kiddos. We’ll see how the feedback goes.

That kitchen looks fantastic! The red really sets things off.

I love the color! It’s amazing how much difference a coat of paint can make in a room.

umm.. four coats of paint… yay for brick red!

Only four coats? I did that color in our breakfast nook area a few years ago in the old house and it took like six coats. In the end I was really happy, but man was that work.

yep. we were lucky. weird how the brown in the cave room took less time than this little-bitty galley kitchen
