I had to put Cami to sleep this morning. The x-rays showed a hemangiosarcoma, rather large. Her appetite was at zero yesterday. She and I laid in the grass yesterday after work and soaked up some sun together. I told her it was all ok.
My heart hurts. But she went to sleep with her head on my arm…like we did for bedtime kisses everynight. And I know she doesn’t hurt anymore.

I’m so sorry… Cami was such a sweet gal.
I’m sorry, Bell. She was indeed a very sweet girl and I’m glad that I got the chance to meet her.
I’m sorry about the loss in your family. I didn’t get a chance to know her very well, but any dog that your ol’ man would write such a sweet post about (above), must have been an amazing pet/friend.
For two days I have searched for the right thing to say and still have nothing. Perhaps Amy says it best. The feelings I experienced with Lucy I know you are feeling with Cami and I feel sad for your loss.
Thank you everyone. Miss Cami was my partner for all her life…and virtually all of my adult life. I do miss her. I was lucky to have her as long as I did. I am happy though, because she didn’t have to suffer. After researching this particular cancer, I feel even more lucky. Lots of people come home to a collapsed pet…or experience the painful death it causes. I am glad I knew her well enough to know something was wrong.
And I’m glad I have such great friends. Thank you all.
I am so sorry about Cami. I still remember having to put my bestest pal Auggie to sleep, 31 years ago. I still think of him once in a while.

They are truely here to teach us.
