Last month was the one year anniversary of when we had to let our Duchess go (she was only 13, but she was suffering from the cancer). My kids were sad, but they firmly believed she would be in heaven with their other dog. In the end, saying goodbye ended up being harder on me than them. Kids are so resilient. My thoughts are with you. This is a hard thing to deal with as an adult.
